Biography
Giovanna is the Director of the Shakespeare Sedona Institute where she also teaches theater games and acting. She recently directed The Scarlet Letter: A Musical Adaptation and A Celebration of the Arts for Cooper Union which was narrated by George C. Wolfe and John Guare and featured numerous artists such as Sam Waterston and Kathleen Chalfant. Giovanna attended the NYU Director's Lab where she directed The Seagull and Wumper to Wumper, a play she also helped to create, and assisted Mark Wing-Davey on the world permiere of Monkey in the Middle by Brighde Mullins. At NYU she has directed The Three Sisters and Meshuga' as-A-Go-Go for the Freeplay series and will be returning to direct The Three Sisters for the Graduate Acting Program in the fall. She directed, created and performed in Basking in the Neon, was a member of A-1 Collaborators and is a member of the Lark Theatre Company. She has also directed for the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program at Tisch. Giovanna has an MFA from the NYU Graduate Acting Program and has performed internationally, regionally, and in recurring roles on Another World and One Life to Live.
