Design for Stage and Film

Go Behind the Scenes

Much is involved in all aspects of a dramatic production; it is an intricate all-involving creation that requires a diverse assembly of players. Various artisans must tend to each facet in order to see these productions to fruition. Tisch School of the Arts offers such a program; one that deals with many of the behind-the-scenes components that make a dramatic production such a sight to behold.

Be Creative

The department of Design of Stage and Film offers art courses and classes in technical aspects of theatre emphasizing the process of design. In the classroom students are encouraged to explore, in depth, the text, character, music, history and the psychological elements of their work and are challenged to apply their creativity in new and imaginative ways. Students work closely with lighting, costume designers and directors facilitating a creative environment.

Think Summer. Think Tisch.

The summer program is a unique opportunity for both visiting and NYU students to gain access to the wide variety of exciting courses offered by the department of Design of Stage and Film.
